Patrick Lanne, Partner

Patrick Lanne is a Partner at Public Opinion Strategies and is based in upstate New York.  Called by The New York Times, "the leading Republican polling company," Public Opinion Strategies currently represents seventeen U.S. Senators, eight Governors, and over 50 Members of Congress.

In the 2006 elections, Patrick polled for three winning statewide initiative campaigns, helped five legislative caucuses defend their majority and completed research for several successful state and local officials.  He polled for state party organizations in Indiana, Tennessee and Wisconsin.

In 2004, Patrick served as a member of the POS research team which tested ads for the Bush-Cheney campaign. In addition, he polled for the Republican Governors Association in two states including Mitch Daniels' resounding victory in Indiana - helping Daniels become the first challenger to beat an incumbent Governor in that state in over 100 years. 

Patrick is very active in state legislative campaigns. He has served as a pollster and strategist for state legislative caucuses and candidates in over a dozen states. He has polled for successful Republican takeovers in Tennessee (State Senate 2004) and Missouri (State House 2002).

In the public affairs realm, Patrick has worked with a number of companies and associations on research projects including advertising testing, one on one interviews with corporate officers and board members, and large quantitative studies.  Some of the companies and organizations he has worked with include: the Biotechnology Industry Organization, the Illinois Manufacturers Association, the Philadelphia Archdiocese, the Organization for International Investment and the Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids.  He has completed research projects in Azerbaijan and Germany.

Prior to joining POS, Patrick coordinated message development and incumbent retention programs for the Wisconsin Assembly Republicans.  He began his career in politics working as a regional campaign coordinator for the New York Assembly Republicans.

Patrick is a magna cum laude graduate of Siena College, and is a frequent speaker on public opinion trends and campaign strategy. He lives in Saratoga Springs, New York with his wife and two kids.
