Matthew E. Jason , Vice President
Matthew Jason is the Director of West Coast Operations for
Public Opinion Strategies.
Jason has worked for Public Opinion Strategies for over eight years. During
that time, he has overseen the data collection, and assisted with the analysis
on, more than 700 research projects. More than 250,000 total interviews
have been completed under his supervision of these research projects.
Jason has also been personally involved with nearly 100
California statewide surveys conducted on behalf of clients
as varied as the California Correctional Peace Officers Association,
the California Farm Bureau Federation, the California Republican
Party, the Insurance Information Network of California and
the Administrative Office of the Court of California. When
it comes to elective offices, Jason has been involved with
research projects in 45 of California's 80 Assembly
Districts, 18 of California's 40 Senate Districts,
and 24 of California's 53 Congressional Districts.
In addition to his work in the quantitative research realm,
Jason is also a professionally trained and experienced focus
group moderator with training from the RIVA Training Institute. Jason
has also been trained to conduct Perception Analyzer™ Dial
Groups. 'Perception Analyzer™' groups
share both qualitative and quantitative characteristics. These 'dial
groups' are qualitative, similar to traditional focus
groups, in that a small number of people are interviewed
in a group setting, and quantitative, similar to a survey,
in that real-time data is collected through a wireless hand-held
device and PC set-up. The dials are used to gather
instantaneous data from a group of respondents who are subjected
to special material, such as a speech, a television commercial,
or even the graphics of a billboard.
Jason has also been responsible for preparing and overseeing
the production of the high-quality charts and graphs which
simplify the key findings of Public Opinion Strategies' research
by making the data easily understood by clients, whether
they are experienced or not in using survey research data.
Jason received his Bachelor of Arts degree in both history
and political science from Hillsdale College in Hillsdale,
Michigan. Jason is married and lives in Long Beach,
California with his wife and four children.
