Rob Autry is a Partner of Public Opinion Strategies, a national political and public affairs survey
research firm whose clients include leading political figures, Fortune 500 companies and major
associations. Rob serves as a pollster and political strategist for numerous mayors, state legislators,
statewide officeholders, and Members of Congress, including the former Republican House Majority
Leader.
In the 2006 elections, Rob was the pollster for two open seat Republican Congressional victories –
Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (MN-6) and Congressman David Davis (TN-1). Rob also polled for
independent expenditure efforts in over a dozen swing Congressional Districts on behalf of the
Republican National Committee and the National Republican Congressional Committee.
Over the past ten years, Rob has managed nearly two thousand quantitative and qualitative research
projects. Rob’s background includes extensive "hands-on" experience in the campaign arena having run
campaigns from the local level to the federal level.
In addition to his work in the United States, Rob has conducted political and public affairs research in
over a dozen countries. In 2000, he was part of the polling team for the presidential campaign of Vicente
Fox who became Mexico's first opposition candidate to win election as President in over 70 years. Most
recently, Rob led the training for the International Republican Institute’s Iraq research staff on how to
conduct research in the country.
Rob also has considerable experience working with many of the world’s leading companies and
organizations in the areas of message development, image and brand management, stakeholder relations
and crisis communication. Some of the companies and organizations he has worked for include: AMP
Financial Group, the American Dental Association, Boeing, the National Association of Manufacturers,
National Association of Realtors, Pfizer, United States Postal Service and Verizon Communications.
Prior to joining Public Opinion Strategies, Rob served as Political Director for the
Carlyle Gregory Company, a strategic political consulting firm based in Washington, DC. A native
North Carolinian who lived for ten years throughout Latin America, Rob is a graduate of Wake Forest
University and a frequent speaker and writer on public opinion research and current political trends.
